German luxury carmaker, Audi, has officially confirmed it’s 2008 major event program as part of the company’s commitment to sailing in Australia.
At most international sailing events, competitors cast a critical eye over the equipment of their rivals in an effort to gauge competitiveness and national pride, and it’s not unusual to find teams meticulously washing down their boats to keep them free of salt and grime.
Vic Sport, one of Australia’s leading sporting bodies, has awarded Australian Sailing Team Member, Glenn Ashby, the coveted Governor’s Award for Victorian Sportsperson of the Year.
The first of the medals at the Sydney International Regatta SIR were decided when Darren Bundock & Glenn Ashby (AUS) crossed the finish line in the final Race 9 just after midday on Wednesday 19 December to claim the gold medal.
